The Golden Hour in the Middle of Nowhere

It’s crazy how music works, especially in the mind of a musician and I’m sure most musicians will agree with me on that.  True artists, such as Kacey Musgraves, usually come full circle to a particular sound, theme or feeling but with a different perspective; or angle.  And, it all has to do with experiencing life.  When someone truly experiences life, especially a creative, you best believe it will come out in their realm of creativity.

If you remember the Golden Hour album from 2018, it was, is and will always be an impeccable piece of work.  From the opening track until the final track it begs to repeat and it will because you have already fallen in love with it from the first note.  I spun it on repeat for months and still do.

However, Middle of Nowhere is the gray side of Golden Hour.  It’s Golden Hour on morphine.  If we were to fit Golden Hour on Side A on vinyl, the B side would be Middle of Nowhere.  It’s brutally honest, raw and transparent.  The passage of time between both albums means nothing because music is timeless.  No disrespect to Star Crossed or Deeper Well, which are both great.  Geez, Star Crossed was phenomenal.  But, Middle of Nowhere is a masterpiece.  The gray twin to Golden Hour.  This is an album you must spin just for the Miranda Lambert duet alone.  Key tracks on this album:  Dry Spell, I Believe in Ghost, Abilene, Loneliest Girl,  Everybody Wants to be A Cowboy, Horses and Divorces and Uncertain, TX.  This album does not disappoint.
